Six years and counting...

We celebrated our sixth anniversary this past weekend (the 14th). We decided to "getaway", so we went to Midway and stayed overnight at the Johnson Mill, which is where we went on our honeymoon. We drove up Friday afternoon and checked in. We were told that the shower handle in the room that we reserved (Mt. Timpanogos room) was broken and were given the option of waiting for them to fix it or we could stay in the Presidential Suite (the only other available room). Well, call us crazy, but we decided to stick with the Timpanogos room. The Presidential Suite was just too big (it was like an apartment) and we wanted the coziness of the Timpanogos room. We had plans to go to Park City and the shower handle would be fixed by the time we got back.

We hit the outlet mall and then had dinner reservations at an Italian Restaurant called Ghidotti's (Thanks to Nathan for the recommendation). They had yummy food that was fresh and really good quality. It was on the pricey side, so it is definitely a special occasion restaurant. Now, I just have to say that I have the best husband ever. He planned this whole weekend and had some surprises up his sleeve. When we got back to our room, I found it with rose pedals scattered all over and some sparkling cider and chocolate covered strawberries (mm, yummy).

Melina stayed with Grandma and Grandpa (Russ' parents) and I was a little worried because this was the first time Melina had ever stayed anywhere overnight without us. Well, she had a great time and didn't want to leave when we came back to pick her up.

It was a great weekend! We didn't want it to end. Johnson Mill is a beautiful place with a lot of great views. We took lots of pictures of the room and views (see the sideshow below). I have a wonderful husband who I love very very much! It seems like it was just yesterday that we were kneeling across from each other at the alter in the temple. But then I look back through the last six years and see all of the wonderful memories we have had (and of course, our precious daughter) . We have been and are truly blessed!
